Discover Nausicaá: Europe’s largest aquarium
Located in Boulogne-sur-Mer, about 45 minutes from our campsite on the Opal Coast, near the ramparts of Montreuil-sur-Mer, Nausicaá is much more than just an aquarium: it’s a fascinating dive into the depths of the oceans. Recognized as Europe’s largest aquarium, it offers an exceptional immersive experience, with spectacular spaces and hundreds of marine species from all corners of the globe. Very close by, you can also meet the Seals of Authie Bay! With family or friends, a visit to Nausicaá promises to amaze you and raise your awareness of the richness, but also the fragility, of the marine world.
Exploration of the ocean and its species
Nausicaá is home to several captivating worlds: the “Journey to the High Seas” takes you to a giant 60-meter-long tank, populated by sharks, manta rays, and schools of colorful fish. The “Of Shores and Men” highlights the links between civilizations and the seas. Finally, the “In the Eye of the Climate” zone alerts you to the effects of global warming through interactive displays. Each room is designed to amaze while informing, with educational activities for the youngest and the naturally curious.
Our practical tips for your visit
To fully enjoy your day at Nausicaá, allow at least 3 hours for your visit. Tickets can be purchased online to avoid waiting. The site is fully accessible to strollers and people with reduced mobility. On site, you will find restaurants, rest areas, and souvenir shops. Consider arriving early in the day or in the mid-afternoon to avoid peak hours. In summer, combine your visit with a stroll on Boulogne-sur-Mer beach or a detour to Le Touquet-Paris-Plage.
